IKEA has issued a recall for a popular kitchen gadget following the risk of small metal pieces breaking off the item and into food.
The furniture giant has urged customers to stop using its IKEA 365+ VÄRDEFULL garlic press in black.
An internal investigation revealed a production error, IKEA said, showing a risk of small metal pieces detaching from the garlic press during use and then being ingested with the food.

“Customers who own an affected garlic press should immediately stop using it and contact IKEA for a full refund,” the company said.
The product IKEA has the date stamp 2411(YYWW) until 2522 (YYWW) and the article number 601.636.02.
Impacted products will also have an IKEA logo on the upper handle of the product.
No receipt or proof of purchase is required for the refund.
“Additionally, IKEA encourages customers to spread the word about this recall, especially if they know that the recalled product was offered, lent or sold to someone else,” it said.
